Of all places for "The Arsenio Hall Show" to kick off, on the set of "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" probably wasn't at the top of most people's lists. That's what happened though, as Arsenio Hall used Jay Leno as his therapist. It was a funny moment from the outgoing "Tonight Show" host.

The more things change, the more they stay the same, it seems. The set of the show isn't all that different from the first time around. Arsenio still talks to guests from a big, comfortable-looking chair, while they sit on a couch. Of course, there's also the expected "Woof, Woof, Woof" chants you might remember from his dog pound.

Arsenio pulled out all the stops for his first show, which includes bringing out Snoop Dogg to perform his 1993 hit "What's My Name?" He even got Paula Abdul to make an appearance. She mostly talked about how awesome Arsenio is, though she took a shot at Simon Cowell too.

Chris Tucker was the main guest, even though he wasn't really there to promote anything. Like Snoop and Paula, he appeared on the original "Arsenio Hall Show." It's like a little TV family reunion.

Snoop came back at the end of the show for another performance and Arsenio pointed out Tara Reid, who was just sitting in the audience for some reason, bringing the first episode of the new "Arsenio Hall Show" to an end.

A lot of the episode was a nice trip down memory lane to a show that broke down a lot of barriers in its time. The guest list was stacked for the first outing, so it will be interesting to see if they can keep the same level of talent flowing through the show.

What did you think? Was the first episode do enough to get you to come back? Sound off in the comments.
