Official change to 'ABC's World News with Diane Sawyer' on Dec. 21

Charles Gibson announced Tuesday that his official departure date is Friday, Dec. 18. Come Monday, Dec. 21 the nightly news program will officially change its name to "ABC's World News with Diane Sawyer," according to an ABC press release.

Meanwhile, over on "Good Morning America," it appears that George Stephanopoulos has been tapped to replace the departing Diane Sawyer. No word as to whether Stephanopoulos has accepted the position, but sources say it's his to accept or turn down.

We aren't sure how we feel about Stephanopoulos. The only thing we know about him is that he likes mushroom, green pepper and onion pizza. And that Rachel gets him confused with Big Bird's friend.
