Olivia Wilde joins HBO pilot from Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger
The drama, a look at the late '70s music scene, hails from "Boardwalk Empire" executive producers Martin Scorsese and Terence Winter, with Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger on board as co-creator and EP, as well.
Set in New York, the pilot explores the drug- and sex-fueled music business as punk and disco began to take over, all through the eyes of Bobby Cannavale's Richie Finestra, the founder and president of American Century Records with an ear for talent who's hit with a crisis of character when forced to make a life-altering decision.
Wilde will co-star Devon Finestra, Richie's wife, THR reports. Devon is a former actress/model who spent the '60s living the Bohemian life. When Richie's crisis put strain on their family, she's pushed to re-immerse herself in her former lifestyle.
The role is Wilde's first series regular commitment since starring as Remy "Thirteen" Hadley on "House" from Season 4 through Season 8.
Production on the pilot is expected to begin in early summer 2014.
