Michael Phelps .jpg"Dancing with the Stars" may have just found its next contestant with Olympian Michael Phelps.

Competitor Ryan Lochte has floated the idea of competing on "Dancing with the Stars" with Phelps to continue the friendly competition and media attention. In an interview with US Weekly, Phelps did not shoot down the possibility of going on the reality show now that he is retired.

"I haven't really been known for my dancing. I know everyone who's done it - I've talked to [speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno] and [swimmer Natalie Coughlin] about it, and they said they've enjoyed it and had a blast. I won't say I'm ruling anything out, who knows?"

If he could pick any partner, regardless of their pro or celebrity status, Phelps would choose Coughlin, saying, "She's gone through it all before and Natalie and I have been on a lot of teams together. She literally couldn't stop talking about how much fun the show was."

Former Olympians turned "Dancing with the Stars" contestants include Ohno, Coughlin, Shawn Johnson, Evan Lysacek, Misty May-Treanor, Kristi Yamaguchi, and Hope Solo. Yamaguchi, Johnson, and Ohno all went on to win their respective seasons, while Lysacek was the runner-up in Season 10.

But before Phelps even plots his next career move, he will be taking a well-deserved vacation, reportedly to the Maldives with his friends.

Do you think Phelps would do well on the show? Would you watch for another round of Lochte versus Phelps? What would be your all Olympic cast of "Dancing with the Stars"?
