One week into the 2014 Winter Olympics and Norway's position atop the leaderboard finally seems to have a challenger. After days at No. 1 alone, Norway has found itself tied up with the United States.

By Friday's end, three new countries had made their debut on the leaderboard --Welcome to the party, Kazakhstan! -- bringing the total up to 27 countries. The current Top 10 is:

1. (tie) Norway -- 13 medals (4 gold, 3 silver, 6 bronze)
1. (tie) USA -- 13 medals (4 gold, 3 silver, 6 bronze)
3. Netherlands -- 12 medals (4 gold, 3 silver, 5 bronze)
4. Russian Federation -- 12 medals (2 gold, 5 silver, 5 bronze)
5. Germany -- 10 medals (7 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze)
6. Canada -- 10 medals (4 gold, 4 silver, 2 bronze)
7. Switzerland -- 7 medals (5 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze)
8. Sweden -- 7 medals (5 silver, 2 bronze)
9. Austria -- 5 medals (1 gold, 4 silver)
10. Belarus -- 5 medals (3 gold, 1 bronze)

The highlights of Friday's events will be broadcast during primetime on NBC, beginning at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
