One Direction's Louis Tomlinson is more than just a pretty face with a soothing voice. It turns out the "Best Song Ever" singer is also a talented soccer player.

After playing in a charity match to benefit Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice, Tomlinson received an offer to play for the second division Doncaster Rovers as a non-contract player. That means Louis will have an official uniform and a team number -- 28, for the record -- and could appear on the field at any time during the team's season.

"This has always been a childhood dream for me," Tomlinson tells the Rovers' official website. "I feel very honored to have been asked to sign for Rovers, and being able to help both the club and the amazing charity Bluebell Wood is what it's all about."

The Rovers' media manager, Steve Uttley, hopes Louis' presence on the team will benefit the children's hospice as well as the soccer club. "Louis wanted more involvement to raise the profile of his home town club and Bluebell Wood," says Uttley. "What started out as light hearted banter on text has moved on to reality, which is a great coup for the club."

Sounds like the future may hold a whole new generation of soccer players looking to bend it like Tomlinson.
