Oprah Winfrey returning to 'The Late Show with David Letterman' Aug. 1
It was a big deal when Oprah appeared on "Letterman" the first time, which ended a 16-year feud that started in the 1980s. Oprah says the feud started when she appeared on his NBC "Late Night" show and he failed to defend her against some hecklers in the crowd, which David Letterman apologized for on "Oprah's Next Chapter."
Meanwhile, Letterman and his wife skipped out on a bill after running into Oprah at a restaurant, tricking the waiter into thinking Oprah was paying, which is when Letterman says the feud started.
This time around on "Letterman," Oprah is stopping by to promote "Lee Daniels' The Butler," her new film where she plays Gloria Gaines, wife of Cecil Gaines, the famous longtime butler in the White House, serving from 1952 to 1986.
"The Butler" is due out of Aug. 16. Will you be tuning in to see Oprah on "Letterman"?
