'Oprah's Favorite Things' returns after a one-year break

oprahs-favorite-things.jpgWhen Oprah Winfrey ended her talk show last year, she also ended the annual free-stuff bacchanal that was "Oprah's Favorite Things."

It turns out, though, the event was only on hiatus. "Oprah's Favorite Things" will return to TV this year as a two-hour special on OWN. It's scheduled to debut on Sunday, Nov. 18.

(The Favorite Things list did live on in 2011, but only in O magazine.)

The special will feature an audience of military spouses from every branch of the armed forces who don't know they're about to be showered with gifts. There's an OWN tie-in there as well, as the special leads into the premiere of the cable channel's docu-series "Married to the Army: Alaska."

Per usual, the Favorite Things list will cover everything from food to electronics, with at least one or two big-ticket items in the mix. Oprah will get help from Gayle King and O magazine creative director Adam Glassman, along with designers Tory Burch and Michael Kors and chef Curtis Stone, in putting together the list.

Viewers will also have a chance to get in on the fun. They'll be able to text keywords at designated points during the show to enter a drawing to win some of the items on the list.
