orange-is-the-new-black-season-3-netflix.jpgExpect another year of crazy with "Orange Is the New Black." Netflix has officially picked up its hit series for a Season 3 more than a month prior to Season 2 premiering on the streaming website.

Season 3 was expected, as it was previously reported that Laura Prepon would be back fulltime for the 2015 season. Netflix confirmed the renewal after Prepon posted an Instagram photo showing fake Season 3 titles.

"Orange Is the New Black" tells the story of Piper Chapman, a woman sent to a female prison after being convicted of a crime she committed a decade earlier. There she must juggle her engagement with her fiance Larry Bloom (Jason Biggs) with the drama inside the prison, and her reunion with former flame Alex Vause (Prepon) who got her incarcerated to begin with.

In 2013, Netflix showed similar faith with "Orange Is the New Black" by renewing it for a second season prior to the Season 1 premiere. At the time, the cast told Zap2it there are many stories to tell within the world of "Orange Is the New Black."

"The show is definitely set up for multiple seasons," Prepon said. "There's so many characters and so many amazing storylines. When you get towards the end of the season -- we don't want to give anything away -- but there's a lot of stories to tell here."

Taryn Manning added, "There's definitely enough freaking characters to keep it going for a long time. ... A lot of freaky women."

Season 2 of "OITNB" drops Friday, June 6, 2014 on Netflix.
