orphan-black-Tatiana-Maslany-bbc-america.jpg "Orphan Black," the second original scripted series in BBC America's history, has officially been renewed for Season 2.

Currently airing as part of the cable network's "Supernatural Saturday" block following new episodes of U.K. import "Doctor Who," conspiracy thriller "Black" is halfway through its 10 episode first season. The Season 1 finale airs June 1.

Season 2 will also run 10 episodes and is expected to return in 2014. Tatiana Maslany stars as a street-smart young woman who discovers there are other woman out there who look exactly like her and finds herself caught up in a mystery involving clones, secret experiments and ruthless killers.

Although the show's first season has been averaging under 500,000 viewers it has all the markings of a cult following, and BBC America clearly believes in its potential.

BBC America's first original scripted series, period drama "Copper," returns for Season 2 on June 23.
