Fan-favorite "Orphan Black" star Tatiana Maslany has entered into the ring for the coveted role of Sarah Connor in the upcoming flick "Terminator 5."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Maslany has tested alongside "Game of Thrones'" Emilia Clarke and Brie Larson for the part. The roles of John Connor and Kyle Reese have yet to be cast as well, but the report says that Paramount would like the character of Sarah Connor to be set in place first.

What that likely means is that the other two actors will be cast based on their compatibility with whoever ends up being the leading lady. That's a message of good faith to the three currently testing for the part, especially since Maslany and Clarke have only taken central stage in such a big way on the small screen before.

With "Thor: The Dark World" and former "Game of Thrones" director Alan Taylor helming the project, it seems that Clarke might have the advantage for the part. But Maslany wowed audiences in "Orphan Black's" first season, so on ability alone she should have a step up on those she's up against for the part of Sarah Connor.

Who would you like to see take this "Terminator 5" role?
