Ozzy Osbourne & Black Sabbath reunite for world tour
The band is releasing their first album of original material in 33 years in 2012, and they're headed out on a world tour. The original line up -- Singer Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bass player Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward -- announced at a press conference at Whisky a GoGo in Los Angeles that they will have their first performance of their world tour in June 2012 at the Download Festival in England.
It's the 41st anniversary of the band's first ever show in Los Angeles -- also at the Whisky -- so it was a poignant moment for reporters to see them all joining forces again. " It's now or never. We are getting along great. Everything's really good," Iommi says.
Osbourne admitted that the band had tried to work on material together before but it hadn't clicked. " This time, for some magical reason, we have written about seven or eight songs," he says.
Fans can follow the band on their first official website at BlackSabbath.com, and they plan to have a presence on Facebook and Twitter as well.
