'Parenthood' Season 4: Jason Ritter promises a return if the show gets picked up
Though that's still in flux, we've got some good news for "Parenthood" fans -- Jason Ritter promises to return to the show as Mark Cyr, even though he's leading Jason Katims' new medical drama pilot, "County."
"People are going, 'Oh God, it's going to break them up!' I think the characters are so far in that relationship that you can't just end it abruptly, especially when I've just asked her to marry me," Ritter tells Vulture.
"It's not as if 'County' is a one-guy show -- it's about all six of us -- so I'll have time to run back and forth. So we'll see what happens. Whatever they choose, it's going to make me weepy when I watch it."
Lauren Graham shared a similar sentiment with us when we visited her on the "Parenthood" set this season. "I think it's unfair to the audience to let them fall in love with this couple and then yank it away," she said frankly. "So you're not going to see us create an easy out and write him off. There are issues that this couple would really have. It's not like I just woke up one day and was like, 'You know? He's not that adorable.' You'd have to discover that he'd, like, chopped up people in the basement to buy that anyone wouldn't love this man."
Now that we know there's more to come for Sarah and Mark, we're even more anxious for that Season 4 news. Come on, NBC!
