Paris Hilton's birthday cake stolen by someone named Paz; Surprisingly, not Paz de la Huerta

Paris-Hilton-cake.jpgFirst a birthday cake, is the Lexus next?

Someone named Paz apparently crashed Paris Hilton's early birthday bash and made off with her cake at the Tues. (Feb. 15) Hollywood soiree. The cake reportedly cost over $2,000 and included Absinthe in the batter. Yum.

When we initially heard of these shenanigans, we immediately thought "Oh, Paz de la Huerta -- You crazy." But in fact, this was not the doing of de la Huerta at all. There is some fame-seeking man named Paz who runs a Facebook page titled "Who is Paz?" and apparently he moonlights as a cake thief.

Paz took to Facebook recalling the entire evening and posting pictures of everything from the front entrance, to a red wristband marked with the letter "P" (which is apparently all you need to get in to these types of events), to Hilton herself, flanked by her parents and boyfriend Cy Waits on either side, blowing out her birthday candles. In the photo you can see there are two cakes present.

According to his recount of the night, he and a pal got in with no trouble at all and enjoyed their fair share of cocktails. By the end of the night, they had made off with the red, three tiered cake after a waiter suggested it would most likely be thrown out.

The cake in question was produced Lucid Absinthe, who released a (totally legitimate and not self-serving at all) press release about the whole situation.

"We had the cake designed especially for Paris with Lucid in the batter and a beautiful representation of Lucid's artwork on it," the statement reads. "We're happy that Paris and her guests were able to enjoy a night of Lucid cocktails, including the Paris Lemonade/Paris frozen Lucid Sorbet -- and only wish that the guests could have tried her delicious cake."

Let us just say that we hate ourselves right now. First of all, for actually promoting the obviously fame seeking Paz and secondly, for giving Lucid Absinthe a platform.

But it's all kind of hilarious. Between the fact that the cake was stolen in the first place, to all the people that are now getting publicity from it...  What is the world coming to?

We can at least take refuge in the fact that a struggling artist of sorts named Paz is now enjoying $2,000 "f***ing delicious cake."

We would also like to take this opportunity to remember the Paris Hilton party crashers who came before. Namely, Ke$ha.
