'Parks and Recreation': John McCain and other senators will make cameos

Republicans John McCain and Olympia Snowe and Democrat Barbara Boxer will all appear in an episode of the NBC comedy that's filming on location in the capital, The New York Times reports. They shot a cocktail-party scene Thursday (July 19) at a Washington hotel with "Parks" stars Amy Poehler and Adam Scott.

McCain tweeted a picture of himself and Poehler Thursday evening, saying "Had a great time shooting @ParksandRecNBC today w/Amy Poehler - I think it's an Emmy!"

"Parks and Rec" is shooting in Washington for an episode that has Leslie (Poehler) visiting Ben (Scott), who took a job working on a congressional campaign at the end of last season. The episode is currently scheduled as the second one of the coming season, but showrunner Mike Schur tells the Times NBC might move it up a week to promote as the season premiere on Sept. 20.
