parks-and-rec-lucy-lawless.JPG Lucy Lawless begins her guest-starring arc on "Parks and Recreation" Thursday (Oct. 4), and as promised, her character and Ron Swanson will feel a definite connection.

How much of a connection? Just watch these clips. The Pawnee parks department staff is manning a 3-1-1 hotline where residents can report problems in the community, and Ron ( Nick Offerman) fields a call from a woman named Diane (Lawless) about a pothole in front of her house. The public works department is unresponsive, so Ron takes matters into his own hands, with Andy ( Chris Pratt) in tow.

(Thursday's episode, incidentally, also has Donna ( Retta) getting very into "Fifty Shades of Grey," hence her inattention when Jerry ( Jim O'Heir) gets a real emergency call.)

What happens next is the stuff great romances are made of -- the spark is so strong that even Andy can't help but notice. Take a look:

"Parks and Recreation" airs at 9:30 p.m. ET Thursday on NBC.
