'Parks and Recreation': Nick Offerman talks Tammys (and woodworking)Add to Favorites | Parks and Recreation
A big piece of the Ron Swanson puzzle gets filled in on Thursday's (Sept. 29) "Parks and Recreation," and who better to explain it than the man himself, Nick Offerman.
Thursday's episode is called "Ron and Tammys," and we'll meet all three of the women named Tammy in his life. Tammy Two ( Megan Mullally), we already know. She's the "raging hellcat" who was Ron's second ex-wife. We got just a brief glimpse of Tammy One ( Patricia Clarkson) at the end of last week's show, but as Offerman explains in the clip above, she's a much, much different woman than Tammy Two.
"Tammy One ... is a much more efficient taskmaster. She rules with an iron fist," Offerman says. You'll find out that Clarkson's character has had, as he puts it, "an authoritarian role" in Ron's life for some time.
Finally, we'll get to meet the original Tammy, Ron's mother Tamara ("Saturday Night Live" writer Paula Pell, aged up significantly for the part). In a lot of respects the Swanson apple did not fall far from the tree, and mom also apparently recognized Ron's woodworking skills at a very early age.
"Parks and Rec" airs at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
