Pat Boone calls Obama a Marxist
There is a good chance that this only counts as a news story because of one thing -- the surprise in finding out that Pat Boone is alive and willing to give bizarre political commentary on the current President of the United States.
Or maybe this is just another example of the liberal media rushing in to mock a conservative who dares poke totally insane "fun" at Barack Obama. The readers will have to decide.
Whatever the case, Pat Boone (who is totally alive!) has called Barack Obama a Marxist while speaking on Fox Business News. The celebrity "with a great singing voice" is either an economics expert or a celebrity who happens to share similar economic views with the show.
Technically, Boone stopped just short of saying something like "Obama is a red commie Marxist." But he certainly did imply it. "He is following his playbook, which is Saul Alinsky's 'Rules for Radicals,'" Boone said. "This is the guy that trained him to be a community organizer, a Marxist, a socialist, a progressive, who wrote the rules for doing what Mr. Obama is doing."
The show's host, Neil Cavuto, had the good sense to pull back from statements about nebulous playbooks, saying just that this was a "weak area" for the President.
Boone wasn't good with pulling back though. "I think he's a brilliant guy, and I think he knows what he's doing, and he's doing it by design because he has a plan," the singer and actor said. "He thinks it's good for America, a virtually socialist nation in which nobody gets rich, government is in charge of everything."
So obviously Pat Boone has an opinion on the matter. He has long been a vocal opponent of President Obama, having supported the Birther Movement. As Boone himself pointed out, his name even appeared on the probably fictitious Obama " enemies list" published by a supermarket tabloid in 2009.
