Paula Patton surprised at Robin Thicke and Miley Cyrus VMA performance backlash
Paula Patton and Robin Thicke don't seem to let many problems phase them. Thicke has made headlines recently from everything from his twerking with Miley Cyrus at the VMAs to grabbing a fan's behind in an after party picture, but Patton is making it clear that she's standing by her husband of eight years.
The "Baggage Claim" actress stopped by "Watch What Happens: Live" and opened up to Andy Cohen about Thicke's much-discussed VMAs performance.
"First of all, his outfit was fly. Secondly, he was wearing pants so there was nothing to wash off. It wasn't a naked show!" she says, adding of the sexual nature of her husband's dance with Cyrus, "I wasn't surprised at all. Honestly, they rehearsed for three days beforehand, and I don't know how not to dance with someone having their booty in your ... all my friends do it like that. And I don't really know what the big deal is."
In fact, the only thing Patton says she's surprised about is the backlash to the set. "I didn't know if they thought Miley was going to sit down and play piano like Alicia Keys. Her song's about taking molly!"
Patton made her stance on keeping a relationship healthy, saying, "That's an important in marriage, I think: let a man be a man."
