Those rumors about "The Sing-Off" Season 3 winners Pentatonix being in "Pitch Perfect 2" have proved to be true. Not only will the five-person group -- consisting of Scott Hoying, Kirstie Maldonado, Mitch Grassi, Avi Kaplan and Kevin Olusola -- be in the new movie, but they will have a key role to play.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the real-life a cappella singers will play a rival group to the Barden Bellas at Barden University. The band spent one 12-hour day on set, and even were able to mix the song they sing in the movie. They won't, however, get any lines in the movie.
"We're wearing some pretty interesting things," Hoying tells EW. "You can definitely tell it's the five of us, but what we're wearing and who we're portraying is definitely not Pentatonix."
"Pitch Perfect 2" hits theaters on May 15, 2015.
