One day after her character on "Person of Interest," Detective Joss Carter, died, Tajari P. Henson stopped by "The Late Show with David Letterman" to talk about leaving the TV series.
Taraji is upfront about the fact that she knew from day one that Carter wasn't long for that world, revealing, "I knew when I signed onto the project that the character would have a beginning, middle and end, because I do more feature films and TV is really not my thing."
The idea that her character had an end date at some point in the series is part of what attracted her to "Person of Interest." She explains, "I thought it would be the perfect venue for me to do a TV show and not be stuck for seven years." However, she only knew that the end of Carter would come, not when.
As for holding in the secret once she found out, Henson now feels an enormous weight lifted from her shoulders. "Now the secret is out and I can live my life," she exclaims. She did let the news slip, though. Taraji says she told her mom and grandmother.
