PETA to Lady Gaga: Wear lettuce dress

gaga-runway.jpg Lady Gaga has seemingly worn every kind of outfit possible. But the folks at PETA have come up with one more for the Queen Monster's consideration - one made of lettuce.

According to Reuters, PETA India has asked the singer who once wore a dress made of meat to wear and dine vegetarian while visiting the country. The singer is traveling to India as part of the festivities for the country's first Formula 1 race.

By wearing a dress made of the green, leafy stuff, PETA India hopes it will build awareness of their non-meat-eating goals. They also believe it will demonstrate respect for the local culture that doesn't eat beef.

As for the logistics of such a dress...well, that's another matter.

"If she agrees, we'll make her a dress entirely of lettuce and held together by pins and threads. It will be a full length gown, and we'll make sure it looks sexy," says Sachin Bangera of PETA India. She adds, "Someone will be on hand to spray the lettuce with water so that it doesn't wilt."

If Gaga goes green, she could be the Carmen Miranda of salad. Just don't use any dressing.
