Pierce Brosnan daughter Charlotte dies of ovarian cancer at 41
Pierce Brosnan's daughter Charlotte has died after a three-year fight with ovarian cancer. She was 41.
"On June 28 at 2 p.m. my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer," Brosnan tells People. "She was surrounded by her husband Alex, children Isabella and Lucas and brothers Christopher and Sean."
He continues, "Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl. We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon. We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences."
Charlotte is the daughter of Brosnan's first wife, Cassandra Harris. She also passed away of ovarian cancer in 1991 while still married to Brosnan. Harris, who starred in the James Bond movie "For Your Eyes Only," had Charlotte during her marriage to Dermot Harris. Brosnan later adopted the daughter and her brother Christopher after Dermot's 1986 death.
Charlotte passed away in London. She is survived by her husband Alex Smith, their 14-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son.
