'Pineapple Express 2' announced? Nope, just Seth Rogen and James Franco's April Fool's joke
James Franco and Seth Rogen will soon be teaming up for the first time since "Pineapple Express," but contrary to a trailer Sony Pictures just released, it won't be in "Pineapple Express 2." No, instead they're starring in a much more exciting project: "This Is The End."
That didn't stop the duo from pulling an April Fool's joke on their fans, though. A trailer for "Pineapple Express 2" hit the web today, likely fulfilling many viewers' dreams. But as the end of the "This Is The End" red band trailer proves, this movie could end up acting as a "Pineapple Express" sequel regardless of the fact it doesn't feature the same characters.
Directed by Rogen and Seth Goldberg, "This Is The End" stars Rogen, Franco, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Jonah Hill and Jay Baruchel as versions of themselves after the apocalypse hits. It also features cameos from people like Emma Watson and Rihanna. "This Is The End" is due in theaters on June 12.
