'Plain Jane': The CW's electrifying new makeover show

plain-jane-louise-roe.jpgThe CW's summer reality show, " Plain Jane," is a sort of cross between MTV's "Made" and that awesome 1999 Freddie Prinze Jr. movie, "She's All That."

Host and "fairy godmother" Louise Roe finds geeky, average-looking women and zaps them into shape. Literally.

In the first episode, we meet Roe's first subject, a sweet girl who has had a crush on her friend Ty (who looks a lot like Stephen Colletti from "Laguna Beach" and "One Tree Hill") for six years. She puts her faith in Roe, who sets them up on a "blind" date.

We're a little concerned by the scene that features Roe actually electrocuting her pupil every time she did something socially awkward while talking to a man. She even gets a zap when she accidentally puts the moves on a gay guy. Double ouch.

This show has everything we could possibly hope for in a guilty pleasure TV show. Rooftop champagne, tears in the hair salon, happy endings, and... electrocution.
