Fans of "Plants vs. Zombies" rejoice, because the game's upcoming sequel is going to be free-to-play. PopCap Games has announced that "Plants vs. Zombies 2" will be released for free on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch on July 18 and will include some features new to the franchise.

One of those is a new touch screen power-up that will allow players to "break the fourth wall" by interacting directly with zombies and plants. The game will consist of new levels, plants and zombies; be set across a number of worlds and have perks like plant food that will make plants more powerful.

The game in its entirety is free for users, but (as is the popular model nowadays) there will be upgrades and items available for purchase as well. PopCap released a trailer for the game, which can be watched below.
