Nothing is sacred in Hollywood, not even one of the best surfer movies ever. Kathryn Bigelow's "Point Break" is getting the remake treatment by Alcon Entertainment, and the company has already announced who will direct the film.

Ericson Core, best known for directing the 2006 Mark Wahlberg movie "Invincible" and being the cinematographer for "The Fast and the Furious," has been tapped to helm the movie. This will be the second feature film that he's directed. "Salt" scribe Kurt Wimmer wrote the script.

"The new version of the film is set in the world of international extreme sports, and like the original involves an undercover FBI agent infiltrating a criminal ring," a press release for the movie reads. "The filmmakers are keeping other plot points under wraps."

Filming on the new movie is set to begin at the end of 2013. Alcon is also responsible for the upcoming "Blade Runner" sequel. Somehow we doubt this is what Gary Busey meant when he said, "Utah, get me two!" in the first "Point Break."
