james-wolk-political-animal.jpg "Political Animals" is off to an exciting start on USA, as Sigourney Weaver's Secretary of State Elaine Barrish has decided she's going to run for President again after a failed first bid. Zap2it spoke with star James Wolk, who plays Weaver's son Douglas on the show, about how much we hope it is extended past being a miniseries so we can continue to follow these characters and whether that has been discussed yet.

"You are so kind," says Wolk. "It has not been asked yet."

But he does say that the cast is certainly open to the possibility of going forward with the Hammond family and their surrounding cast of characters.

"We are all open to the possibility of it extending," says Wolk. "It was such a joy to make this miniseries and I mean that in the truest sense of the word. I'm so happy that you feel that way as well, in watching it. I think that we're all excited for that possibility and hope that we do get the chance to unravel this world even more."

Creator Greg Berlanti has also expressed an interest in extending the show. When asked on Twitter if there was a chance it would become a regular series, Berlanti wrote, "Perhaps if we get as many people as possible to watch. So tell people!"

What do you think, "Political Animals" fans? Would you like to see the show made into a regular series on USA?
