The multi-camera show is currently titled "The Smart One." It will star de Rossi as a "brilliant and successful woman who begrudgingly goes to work for her less-brainy but more popular sister -- a former beauty queen, weather girl and now big-city Mayor," this according to EW.com.

de Rossi is probably best known from her days on "Arrested Development" and "Ally McBeal." She recently starred in the critically-acclaimed but quickly-canceled series "Better off Ted." DeGeneres is the host of her own daytime talk show.

Donald Todd, who wrote for the comedy "Samantha Who," will write the pilot.  It will be produced through Warner Bros. Television.
