'Pretty Little Liars' Tyler Blackburn: 'Ravenswood' is 'truly a fight against death'

"Pretty Little Liars" annual Halloween episode is airing in just a few days and star Tyler Blackburn says the "Ravesnwood" spinoff all starts on a creepy bus ride.

"Hanna calls on Caleb and Caleb makes his way over there. ... Caleb finds himself on a pretty eerie bus and on the bus is a girl named Miranda who is very similar to Caleb. They sort of hit it off but there's a bit of tension as well. She's basically Caleb's counterpart," says Blackburn, adding that this show will have a very different feel than "Pretty Little Liars."

"I think 'Ravenswood' will appeal to a lot of different types of people ... yes, my character comes from 'Pretty Little Liars,' but 'Ravenswood' has a completely different storyline. There is very little connection to 'Pretty Little Liars,' says Blackburn. "It's less about the glitz and glamour of these girls in high scool and more about the raw creepiness that happens in Ravenswood. It's truly a fight against death."

As far as moving from one show to another, Blackburn says it's a case of being both happy and sad. Plus, he's not sure what's in store for Caleb and Hanna.

"Bittersweet is the perfect way to describe it. I'm so grateful and have had so many great memories with 'Pretty Little Liars.' ... I'm sad to leave Ashley [Benson], we spend so much time together. I have no idea where that relationship's going to end up on the show. It'll be interesting to see," says Blackburn. "Pretty Little Liars" Halloween episode, "Grave New World, airs Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, followed by the premiere of "Ravenswood" at 9 p.m. on ABC Family.
