Prince William celebrates his 29th birthday on duty for the Royal Air Force

catherine-prince-william-getty.jpgIt may be Prince William's 29th birthday Tuesday (June 21), but he won't be celebrating with some royal gala in Buckingham Palace. The newly-married Duke of Cambridge is on duty as a Royal Air Force helicopter pilot and is currently on call for emergency search and rescue duties, stationed at a base in Anglesey in north Wales.

A spokesman for Clarence House tells Agence France-Presse that in light of his upcoming trip to Canada and the United States with new bride Kate Middleton, Prince William is treating this like a normal work week and no formal celebrations are planned.

Wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge is already 29 years of age. She is six months older than Prince William, having turned 29 back on January 9. So happy birthday, Prince William. Can't wait for your first official U.S. trip.
