'Private Practice' showrunners leave, CBS has 'Got to Dance'

private-practice-cast-320.jpgYou've perhaps heard about a certain cast member leaving "Grey's Anatomy" recently. There's also been a shakeup at its spinoff, "Private Practice."

Executive producers and showrunners Jon Cowan and Robert Rovner, who have been with the series for the past two seasons, are leaving, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It shouldn't affect the rest of this season much, as stories for the remaining episodes have already been broken.

Creator Shonda Rhimes is still overseeing both "Grey's" and "Private Practice," which are both strong bets to be back next season.

- CBS is jumping on the dance-show bandwagon, picking up an American version of the British series "Got to Dance."

"Got to Dance's" hook is that it's open to all comers, regardless of age, dance style or whether they're performing solo or as part of a group. After an audition round, the best dancers will perform live for judges' and viewers' votes.

There's no word yet on who the judges will be -- expect the Paula Abdul rumors to start, oh, anytime now -- or when the show will premiere.

- "Ghost Whisperer" star Jennifer Love Hewitt is set to play a former beauty queen in a Lifetime movie called "The List."

It's a comedy about a woman whose family is facing foreclosure on their home. "Convinced that no one as pretty as her deserves to be poor," as THR puts it, she starts working at a massage parlor -- and discovers what "massage parlor" clients really want.

Suzanne Martin ("Frasier, TV Land's "Hot in Cleveland") wrote the script, and frequent "Ghost Whisperer" director Eric Laneuville will direct. Hewitt, who's also guesting in NBC's pilot "Love Bites," is among the executive producers.

 - Gordon Ramsay will be joined by restaurateur wine maker Joe Bastianich and four-star chef Graham Elliot Bowles for his new FOX series "Masterchef," which premieres on Thursday, July 29 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Bastianich is a longtime business partner with Mario Batali and has helped establish Babbo Ristorante e Enoteca, Lupa Osteria Romana, Esca, Casa Mono, Bar Jamon, Otto Enoteca Pizzeria and Del Posto.

Bowles' "bistronomic" restaurant Graham Elliot in Chicago infuses humor and accessibility into four-star cuisine. He became the youngest four-star chef in America when he was 27.

"Masterchef" takes amateur chefs and attempts to transform them into masters through a series of challenges.
