'Psych': Shawn learns a lesson, is 'temporarily displaced' in 'Right Turn or Left For Dead,' says EP Steve FranksAdd to Favorites | Psych
Executive producer Steve Franks tells Zap2it that the episode isn't "It's a Wonderful Life"-y, as most fans have guessed from the episode description. But it's sort of along those lines.
"It's a little bit of 'Sliding Doors,'" says Franks. "Shawn gets to see, in a way, what would've happened if the events had not played out, if he'd not come clean that night. He gets to see the way things would've happened and the way they did happen."
We're very intrigued. And while Franks can't divulge too many details, he does say it's an awesome episode. While he found last week's cliffhanger so "heartbreaking," the follow-up episode is maybe even better.
"I love ['Deez Nups'], but ['Right Turn or Left for Dead'] is really, really cool. It pushes the boundaries, once again, of the things that we've done," says Franks. "I think it's a really cool way to follow this up. It's a great way for Shawn to learn the lesson that he doesn't quite get in the previous episode."
We have to ask -- where will Shawn go, since he and Juliet have been living together?
"Shawn is going to be temporarily displaced, at least for the time being," says Franks. "He's already gone and moved back home this season, he had images burned into his mind that he can't unsee. So his place and where he stays is a little bit up in limbo, but he always has Gus."
We were kind of hoping he'd bunk up with Lassie. Though we suppose that's a little trickier with Marlowe in the picture now.
