Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee: 'DWTS' pro Mark Ballas goes to the Royal Derby
Ballas had a bit of a wardrobe issue though. Though the man has worn ever type of sequin under the sun and costumes in every color of the rainbow, he didn't have a top hat in his closet. This and a morning jacket are required for the Epsom Derby, which begins the celebration. Ballas tells People, "I ended up finding one 10 minutes before the shop closed."
Jenkins sang the national anthem for the Queen, but according to Ballas, her nerves were just fine. "Katherine said nothing will ever compare to the nerves of 'Dancing With the Stars.' Ballas tells the site that the Queen was tiny and amazing. "I was just standing there, jaw-dropped," he says of being close to Elizabeth. He didn't have a royal chat, though. "You never speak unless spoken to," he says.
Ballas also admitted to reading "Fifty Shades of Gray" on the plane. Well, that's one way to pass the time.
