Do you watch "Dance Moms" and think to yourself, "Too much dance and Abby Lee Miller, not enough bratty kids and overbearing stage moms?" Well, then "Raising Asia" is the show for you.

This new Lifetime show follows the quest of Asia Monet Ray and her mom Kristie to make Asia a global superstar. As Kristie says in the premiere, "Right now our family evolves around Asia's career." She means "revolves," but "evolves" kind of works too.

Father Shawn and little sister Bella are being dragged along for the ride, as demonstrated by a line in the premiere episode where Asia's dad suggests they go to the park and Asia says, "He still doesn't get how busy I am. Pop stars do not go to the park. Their playground is the red carpet."

The climax of episode one is Asia's performance at World of Dance, where she wields a whip as a lion tamer, with four adult male backup dancers as her lions. She is eight years old.

"Raising Asia" premieres Tuesday, July 29 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Lifetime.
