According to news reports, the rapper and several members of his entourage were walking near downtown San Francisco Saturday afternoon (June 8) when three men, one of whom was carrying a handgun, approached them.

One shot was fired, police say, and although no one was hurt, the three men made off with 2 Chainz's phone and wallet, which contained cash and credit cards. The shooter then drove away in a gray sedan.

2 Chainz (whose given name is Tauheed Epps) had a No. 1 album last year with his debut release, "Based on a T.R.U. Story." He's also been a guest on seemingly every other rap song of note in the past year or so. In April, he was acquitted of a marijuana-possession charge in Maryland.
