Rapper Too Short's alive! He's not dead, 'just mackin''

too-short-gi.jpgRapper Too Short (or, umm Too $hort) is not dead. We repeat, Too Short is not dead. He's just the latest victim of the dreaded Internet celebrity death hoax. (Previous victims include Lindsay Lohan, Justin Bieber, David Beckham, Jackie Chan and Hilary Duff.)

Apparently the rumor started spreading on Twitter on Tuesday (Nov. 22) and was quickly all over the place. According to TMZ, several clever jokesters even attempted to update Too Short's Wikipedia page to include reports of his death.

But, rest assured, the man who brought us the rap classic "I'm a Player" is alive and well.

He settled the matter himself in a series of tweets: "Stop calling my phone. I'm not dead. Been in the lab working on my 19th album #NoTrespassing in stores Feb 2012."

We were particularly fond of this tweet: "'I'm not dead, I'm just mackin'. Too Short 1990."

The silver lining: People are talking about Too Short for the first time since 1990.
