Comedian Seth MacFarlane has promised to match up to $1 million pledges that are made via the Kickstarter campaign so that "Reading Rainbow" can be made available for free to underfunded classrooms, Burton says in a statement released Thursday (June 27).

The pledge started at the then-total of $4 million and runs through the end of the Kickstarter, which is over on July 2. That means that whatever pledges are donated over $4 million and up to $5 million will be matched by MacFarlane.

Burton writes on the Kickstarter website, "Please help me thank my friend, Seth, for his amazing generosity. You can send him some love on Twitter @SethMacFarlane, or post in the comments below, but however you do it, please give him some love. With his help, we can make an even bigger difference for an entire generation of kids. That's just huge."
