'Real Housewives of New Jersey': Caroline Manzo's exit sparks new casting rumors
Twin sisters Nicole and Teresa Napolitano and their friend Amber Marchese are reportedly joining the hit reality show for its sixth season, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.
After the Season 5 reunion aired on Sunday (Oct. 13), Manzo revealed her departure on Twitter and on her official Bravo blog.
"I've always prided myself on giving you the truth of who I really am, the good, the bad and the ugly," she wrote. "Over the past few years my outlook on the show has changed from something I couldn't wait to show my future grandchildren to something I hope my future grandchildren never see. I've always prided myself on being a good example for my children and my decision to leave is based on advice I've always given them: 'Be true to yourself and be proud of who you are, you are born with a name and you die with a name, don't dirty it up.'
"Going back to film another season of 'Housewives' would only make me a hypocrite. For me, peace and integrity cannot be bought with money or fame. I practice what I preach, and as I said on the reunion, I'm done. I simply feel that my role has run its course and I have nothing more to give."
Manzo doesn't plan to go too far from Bravo, however. She's currently at work on a pilot for the cable net titled "Manzo'd With Children" that she promises will "give the viewers a very different look into the world of the Manzo family."
With Manzo officially out, it's been rumored that her estranged sister Dina Manzo is eyeing a return. Dina was a part of the original cast alongside her sister, but departed during Season 2 amidst major conflict with fellow former Housewife, Danielle Staub.
Are you looking forward to some fresh blood on "RHONJ"? Or do you think the show is dead without Manzo?
