On Sunday's (July 27) episode of "The Real Housewives of Orange County," Gretchen Rossi's extravagant proposal to Slade Smiley finally makes its way to the boob tube.
In a preview clip from the episode, Gretchen puts on her best Marilyn Monroe look to meet Slade on top of Downtown Los Angeles' AT&T building to pop the question -- but not before asking her mom to help calm her nerves about taking the next step.
"Everything that I've done that's been really serious -- it's ended in tragedy; it's ended in sadness," says Gretchen. Mom basically tells Gretchen to get over it and that there's no turning back now.
After Gretchen threatens to run out the door and skip the proposal altogether, she asks for one last reassurance. "Do you love Slade," Gretchen asks her mom. "Do you think he's the right man for the rest of my life, forever and ever and ever?" After getting the go ahead from her mother, Gretchen makes her way to the roof of the skyscraper and yells out, "I'm gonna go get my man!"
But at Sunday's "The Smurfs 2" premiere in Los Angeles, Gretchen was a little more reserved about wedding plans. As she posed for pictures on the blue carpet and flaunted her engagement ring, letting Slade stand back out of her spotlight, Gretchen told reporters she and Slade are too busy to marry any time soon. In fact, she says it will be at least one year from now before we hear wedding bells ring.
Perhaps she's really just waiting for frenemy Tamra Barney's wedding buzz to die down, and hoping for a spinoff show of her own. Are you listening, Bravo?
