Rebel Wilson performs Lady Gaga's 'Edge of Glory' on 'Tonight'
Let it be confirmed that Rebel Wilson is pitch perfect even when she's not charming us on the big screen.
The Australian actress visited "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" to promote her new movie "Pitch Perfect" last night and brought her particular brand of comedy with her. In the video above, you can see Wilson showing off her fantastic singing voice and proving to be one of the most entertaining guests we've seen on the show in a while.
"['Pitch Perfect' is] a comedy, but you also have to sing in it, and they're like, 'Well, she kind of looks like Adele,'" Wilson recounts to Leno about her audition process, explaining that she sang Lady Gaga's "Edge of Glory" for her audition piece. "A lot of people sing from their chest voice, and I sing from my breast voice. It's a new thing I do."
Wilson then gets up and performs a rounding rendition of "Edge of Glory" for Leno and his audience, thumping her chest and proving that "breast voice" means exactly what you think it does. An honorable mention goes out to "Tonight's" other guest, Bryan Cranston, who totally would have sung a duet had Wilson let him. Who knew Walter White was such a Gaga fan?
It turns out that Lady Gaga was beyond pleased with Wilson's rendition. She took to Twitter to tell her Little Monsters about the performance, tweeting, "i bet she had no idea I'm a HUGE fans. this is so amazing i peed my pants." Maybe Gaga will start incorporating her own breast voice into her performances from here on out.
