Regis Philbin retiring from 'Live With Regis and Kelly'
Philbin did not specify a departure date just yet, but he said he would be leaving around the end of the summer or fall. The 79-year-old TV personality has recently had to take time off from his hosting duties to have a blood clot removed from his leg, hip replacement surgery and triple bypass heart surgery.
Regis is a three-time Daytime Emmy winner, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2003 and was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in 2008.
We'll miss you, Reege. And we can't wait for the shenanigans surrounding finding Kelly's new co-host. We nominate Jerry O'Connell.
