revenge-fire-ice-emily-dani.jpgWednesday's "Revenge" finally brought us full circle to the engagement party scene that hooked us all in the pilot episode. Though one question was answered for sure -- the body in the sand belonged to Tyler (Ashton Holmes), not Daniel (Joshua Bowman) -- the floodgates have now opened for a new crop of mysteries.

The major question now, of course, is whether Daniel is responsible for Tyler's death -- and whether he'll be prosecuted for murder. While the audience knows that Tyler hit the beach that night with plans to kill Daniel and pin it all on Emily (Emily VanCamp), the blood splattered across Daniel's shirt may lead officials to a different conclusion. Even his mother appears to have her doubts about him.

That said, we're still in the dark about the way that events transpired. We know that Amanda (Margarita Levieva) was on the beach when shots were fired, and we saw Daniel stagger and fall at the beginning of the episode. Plus, there was blood coming from his ear, which gives us the impression that there was quite a struggle before anyone was shot to death.

For once, Emily seems to have an alibi. Judging solely by her genuine expression of shock as the episode drew to a close, things have spun way out of her grasp -- murder at the ball was definitely not in her detailed quest for vengeance. Losing control tends to make Emily even more vengeful, so we expect her to do everything she can to find out exactly what happened... and how she can use it to her advantage.

Jack (Nick Wechsler) is going to have a lot of explaining to do since his fingerprints are all over the body and the phone -- and since his little brother spotted him dragging Tyler, which is never exactly a good sign. Given Emily's undeniable affection for him, we can expect her to do her best to protect him. This time, though, she might not be able to.

Of course, there's also the question of Amanda, who disappeared in a car with Takeda. We'd normally assume that she's a goner at this point, but we've learned to assume very little with this show.

We can't wait to discuss this heart-stopping episode with you all! Leave your theories and opinions in the comments section below. Did it all go down the way you thought it would? Are you glad that Daniel is still alive, murder suspect though he may be? And who do you think really pulled that trigger?
