Rick Santorum gives sweater vests to donors

rick-santorum-sweaters-gi.jpgRepublican voters who were on the fence about which candidate to support in the upcoming New Hampshire primary may just be swayed by Rick Santorum's latest campaign ploy. The presidential hopeful is sending out official Santorum campaign sweater vests to donors who give at least $100 to his campaign by Wednesday (Jan. 11).

A description of said vests from Santorum's official website:

"Perfect for demonstrating solidarity with true conservatives, this vest is a great way to show your support for Rick.  It's 100% cotton, made in the USA, comes in grey, and is yours for your contribution of $100 or more. Don't let sleeves slow you down -- donate today!"

Wait -- so sleeves are un-American? Or just a handicap? We're confused.

According to The Washington Post, Santorum's ever-present v-neck sweater vests have become something of a symbol for the former Pennsylvania senator. They've inspired a Twitter feed, a Tumblr blog and a profile in the New York Times.

Sadly, supporters may not be able to wear their vests in some of the earlier primaries. According to the site, demand has been "extremely high" and donors should allow four to six weeks for delivery.
