Ricky Gervais made for a divisive Golden Globes host.

Critics of his 2011 turn as master of ceremonies, particularly the Hollywood Foreign Press, called out the actor and comedian for crossing the line -- while others found the candor refreshing.

Regardless, he won't likely be reprising the gig. Instead, Gervais wants to offer live commentary with some of his fellow comedians. He outlined his possible plans in a recent blog post.

"What do you think of this?" he writes. "A live 3 hour podcast during The Golden Globes. Me and a few chums (like Louis CK, Chris Rock, Karl Pilkington, John Stewart, Larry David popping in and out) doing our own alternative commentary. People at home can have the telly on with the sound down listening to us online say things that no broadcaster could get away with."

Why? Well, as Gervais sees it, he could offer a hosting duties completely uncensored. "No one could do a f***ing thing."

Gervais also says he may test the waters with an Emmy podcast. So... what do you think? Would you tune in or did he turn you off as at the Golden Globes?
