Ridley Scott's 'The Counselor' teaser trailer debuts: 'Have you been bad?'

"You may think there are things these people are simply incapable of -- there are not." So says Brad Pitt in the first look at Ridley Scott's upcoming thriller, "The Counselor."

The first film from the celebrated director since 2012's "Prometheus," "The Counselor" is from a screenplay by novelist Cormac McCarthy ("The Road," "No Country for Old Men") and features a star-studded cast including Pitt, Michael Fassbender, Javier Bardem, Cameron Diaz and Penelope Cruz.

While the trailer is scant on details, besides letting us know that these pretty people are doing some pretty naughty things, but the film centers on Fassbender's counselor, who gets caught up in the drug trade. Bardem is his wealthy acquaintance, while Pitt is the heavy who brokers the deal. Cruz is Fassbender's love interest, while Diaz is Bardem's.

Near the end of the clip, Cruz asks, "Have you been bad?" The answer, it would appear, is, "Yes, very."

"The Counselor" opens in the U.S. on Oct. 25, 2013. Be sure to check out the teaser above.
