Online reports the "Nobodies Business" singer paid a visit to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, along with her mother, Monica Fenty, and the husband of "Gran Dolly."

"This was my way of giving back to Barbados, in a form of philanthropy, by assisting the QEH in its continued modernization program," says RiRi. "I believe that this will have a huge impact on the people of Barbados. This was all done to save lives or at least extend them."

Following Rihanna's donation, the hospital's radiotherapy department will be renamed the Clara Braithwaite Centre for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine.

After a tumultuous 2012 that included losing her grandmother and facing controversy over her on-again, off-again relationship with Chris Brown, Rihanna seems to be looking forward to a brighter year ahead. The pop star tweeted, "It is most important to be happy, eliminate negativity around you this holiday season...2013 is way too futuristic for the same weak s***."
