Rihanna facing lawsuit after not paying for grandmother's funeral
The company that arranged Rihanna's grandmother's funeral has filed a lawsuit to the singer claiming she didn't pay for the services provided.
According to TMZ, the company says the funeral cost more than $150,000, but Rihanna refused to pay more than a quarter of that total. Her grandmother, Clara "Dolly" Braithwaite, passed away in June 2012, and RiRi reportedly organized a massive funeral service in Barbados including tents, multi-media large screens and "huge exotic floral arrangements."
Thus far Rihanna hasn't responded to these allegations. It is worth noting that she donated $1.75 million to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados in late 2012 to honor her "Gran Dolly."
"This was my way of giving back to Barbados, in a form of philanthropy, by assisting the QEH in its continued modernization program," she said at the time. "I believe that this will have a huge impact on the people of Barbados. This was all done to save lives or at least extend them."
