Lowe and co-star Rashida Jones are leaving "Parks" midway through this season -- an exit that may well have been set up in Thursday's (Oct. 3) episode. But if things break right for him, Lowe could be back on the network in 2014-15 season with a pilot called "The Pro."

The comedy from writers Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory ("King of the Hill," "The Larry Sanders Show") will star Lowe as a former tennis champion who has had a rough time since his career ended and is now working as a country-club pro, trying to ingratiate himself with wealthy members. Lowe will also be an executive producer of the pilot, Deadline reports.

Huyck and Gregory will also exec produce along with director Todd Holland ("Go On," "Malcolm in the Middle") and Karey Burke.

In addition to "Parks and Rec," Lowe stars in National Geographic's "Killing Kennedy" in November. Jones, meanwhile, is producing pilots for FOX and The CW.
