Robert Pattinson to star in 'Fifty Shades of Grey'? E.L. James spotted at his party
It's no secret that E.L. James started her best-selling series "Fifty Shades of Grey" as a fan-fiction for "The Twilight Saga," so it must have been a bit surreal for her to attend the massive "Great Gatsby"-themed birthday party Robert Pattinson threw at his Los Angeles home in honor of friend Nick Jarecki. In Touch reports that James was spotted at Pattinson's Los Angeles house partying alongside Michelle Rodriguez, Sia and Diane Warren.
So does this mean that Pattinson will land a role in the upcoming "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie? Potentially, but it doesn't seem likely. Though he's been rumored to be a frontrunner for the role, James said in the past that "it would be too strange" for Pattinson to play Christian Grey in the movie after portraying Edward Cullen in the "Twilight" movies.
For his part, Pattinson was allegedly a bit peeved about not getting a chance to be considered for the part. "I think the author has written me out of it. I saw some interview earlier and they went, oh, it could never be him. And I'm like ,'Hey, I'm going to make you pay for that,'" Perez Hilton reported him as saying.
Director Sam Taylor-Johnson was recently tapped to helm the movie, sparking rumors that hubby and "Kick-Ass" star Aaron Johnson will land the role of Christian. Kelly Marcel already completed the "Fifty Shades of Grey" script. It's expected to hit theaters in Summer 2014.
